Sagittarius Full Moon
The Full Moon peaks overnight tonight at 3:34am EDT June 11th, at 21°Sagittarius, lifting hopes, moods and visions beyond our daily limitations. You're probably familiar with the phrase "to boldly go where no man has gone before" as spoken by Captain Kirk on Star Trek. Well, that's what this Full Moon is asking each one of us to do, to look up and look ahead into the unknown!
Sagittarius is a Mutable Fire sign, embodying the need for exploration and expansion, especially those things we feel passionately about. We can make our journey meta-physically or physically through education or travel. Either way, we're engaging our super-conscious mind. We're reminded to set our intentions, be adaptable and move forward as we open to new experiences and ways of knowing.
The Sabian Symbol for 21° Sagittarius is A Child and a Dog With Borrowed Eyeglasses, implying the search for knowledge, something beyond the self. Who's the teacher and who's the student - the child or the dog? Perhaps both! It's about seeking what we don't know, and trusting that what we learn will take us to where we were meant to go. Our Higher Self knows, but our physical form needs to understand there are no guarantees. If we have faith, listen to our intuition, and seek the truth, we'll develop the vision to see it.
Expansive Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius has just changed signs, moving into the Water sign Cancer where it joins Mercury. This is a positive position for Jupiter as it increases the opportunities to connect more with family and friends we chose to call family. Mercury's conjunction with Jupiter allows us to have a more coherent connection and to talk about thoughts and feelings we might otherwise avoid. While Mercury will move quickly into Leo on June 26th, Jupiter remains in Cancer for almost a full year, bringing plenty of chances for self-nurturing!
Other important aspects in this Full Moon chart are Jupiter's applying squares to first Neptune and then Saturn in Aries. All three planets are in the early degrees of Cardinal signs on the World Axis. We are at a point in time to envision how we can care for and nurture the Earth and all her inhabitants by taking steps now to move forward in strength and solidarity.
