Capricorn New Moon January 18, 2026

This new Lunar phase begins at the end of the current Solar phase in Capricorn on Sunday, January 18th at 2:52pm. The Moon joins the Sun at 28°44' Capricorn, followed closely by Mercury and Mars at 27°Capricorn. Can you feel the urge to build something new... it's powerful! But before you can begin, you're at a crucial point for assessing what is still unfinished and needs to be done with.

It could be letting go of an old grudge, finishing a nearly complete project, emptying that closet you've been avoiding, or calling it quits on bad habits or outworn relationships. You can rely on the intuitive connection to Capricorn's earthy ruler Saturn, conjunct Neptune in the final degrees of watery Pisces, which is making a compatible sextile to this Moon. This aspect actually encourages us to use this harmonious pairing while it is in effect. Be fearless as you look into your heart and trust your inner voice.

Some of the shifts we're feeling are outside of our control, as Uranus also sextiles Saturn and makes a trine aspect to the Lights and all 3 personal planets, Mercury, Venus, and Mars. While sensing the need to make some kind of move, it's wiser to wait and watch for the changes taking place all around us before we begin to build on unstable ground. These helpful aspects inform us of a positive way forward and if we're doing the hard work of self-growth, we will soon see the path open up.

All the planetary energies leaving Capricorn over the next week will line up in Aquarius, alongside Venus and Pluto and things will be getting real. By that, I mean we're being presented with the impact of the changes taking place that help to define our personal journeys. Uranus is still in Taurus, the sign of the Earth and all her resources, until April 25th when it enters the Air sign of Gemini, transiting there through May 2033 and changing the dynamic of earthly upheaval to mercurial shifts of perspective. In the meantime, we are all well aware of the earth changes taking place around the globe, and issues of currency, oil and other resources related to financial and personal stability and security.
