Spring Equinox - Sun in Aries
Welcome to the first day of Spring and the Astrological New Year! We astrologers call it that because Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, so this is the start of the Sun's journey through the twelve signs that all planets in our solar system traverse yearly.
An Equinox occurs 2 times a year - the Vernal equinox in the Spring and the Autumnal Equinox in the Fall, when the Earth is above the Equator and the hours of daylight and night time are equal.
Enjoy this day that marks a return to balance and renewal, a turning point towards new beginnings in the Northern Hemisphere. The Autumnal Equinox marks a time of balance and harvest, and both are reversed in the Southern Hemisphere. Our friends below the Equator are moving toward Winter, while we are moving toward Summer. Here the days are growing longer and the temperature is rising.
We just had the New Moon in Pisces, indicating a period of reflecting inwardly on what no longer serves us. We are becoming more aware of our own intuition, creativity and service to others. At the same time, the Sun in Aries represents our out-going drive and where we can begin new projects, make new starts and look to the near future.
I hope you can celebrate this time of renewal and use the Sun's Light to guide your path forward!
